Wicklow Pipe Band to regroup following Covid

Following committee meeting last week the Band are delighted to announce that we plan to regroup following Covid.

Pipe Major Alan Dunne said

“Currently we have a small group and are endeavouring to get as many of our previous players back to the band. Some of our players have moved on, chosen to spend more time with family or indeed retired and we thank them all for getting the band to the standards we achieved prior to Covid coming along.

Qualifying for World championship final, 2nd in All – Ireland championships and 3rd in UK Championships 2 years in a row being some of the highlights.

We now see this as an ideal opportunity while currently not on the competition circuit to reset and recruit new members to the band.

Over the next few weeks we will be advertising and actively recruiting, if you are interested in joining the band we will be catering for complete beginners to experienced players and in between!.

As well as performing locally which is our main priority – The band plan to travel to France And Germany over the next 24 months to represent our town in festivals etc. while again preparing the band to re-join the competition circuit in the very near future.

If you are interested in joining the band at this exciting time you can do so by leaving a message on our page or contacting Pipe Major Alan Dunne 086-0459300 , Drum Sargent Michael O’Neill on 086-3332044 or Secretary Amy O’Neill on 085-2485984.”
