Liam’s 4 for 4 in 24

Rathdrum resident Liam Kelly is taking on the massive challenge of running 4 marathons distances(168.8 km) in 24 hours this Saturday 18th June in Avondale GAA. That’s the equivalent of running from Rathdrum to Longford! He is doing this for 4 charities, all money raised will be split evenly between St Colman’s Residential care, Cystic Fibrosis Ireland, Down Syndrome Ireland, Asthma Society of Ireland.

Liam ended December 2021 by completing his 52nd marathon distance for the LauraLynn foundation, he raisied money throughout the year for the charity. In Jan 2022 he needed a new challenge and decided to go big by doing 4 marathons within 24 hours! For this challenge he has been training 4-5 days per week, completing approx 125 hours of training to include 2 Ultra marathons, 6 marathons, 1/2 marathon, kilo marathon & 100km run. That’s over 1,300km he has clocked up.

Starting at 12pm in Avondale GAA on Saturday, it will be a test of physical fitness and mental indurance to finish this one out. While the 24 hour aspect of this challenge is just for Liam, anyone is welcome to drop in and run a few laps with him or pop in to cheer him on.

The total raised so far is over €10,000 and if you’d like to donate the link to his page is here
