Splash into summer 2022 & make a break for Bray

Bray.ie has launched its summer tourism campaign for 2022 today (Friday, June 3rd 2022). The campaign aims to promote the many tourism products and the fantastic family fun-filled events on offer in the much-loved seaside resort this summer. 
You can watch Movies by the bandstand in July, enjoy all the thrills and spills of the Seafront Funfair from July 16th until August 1st, join the outdoor party vibe at Bray’s newest festival Beach BBQ Festival on July 16th & 17th, be amazed by the flying skills at Ireland’s biggest Air Display on July 24th, explore the spectacular views from Bray Head or be wowed with stunning fireworks as they light up the night skies on the August Bank Holiday Monday. 
Eugene Finnegan from Bray Tourism said, “After a two-year hiatus, concerts, festivals, other big events are returning to Bray this summer. I am thrilled that we can bring back our iconic summer programme of family-friendly events. These activities will help to bring a sense of normalcy back to our town while also strengthening the local economy.”
The great family-friendly events include: 

  • Bray Vintage Car Club’s ‘Seafront Show’ takes place on Sunday, June 5th 
  • Hell & Back returns to Killruddery on selected dates in June, July and August
  • Sunday Summer Sounds on the Seafront Bandstand kicks off on June 12th at 2 pm
  • Bray will mark International Day of Yoga by hosting a Yoga Day on Saturday, June 18th
  • The Bray Seafront Art & Photography Exhibition returns to the seafront and takes place on Sunday, June 26th, Bank Holiday Monday, August 1st and Sunday, August 28th from 12 pm to 4 pm
  • Movies by the bandstand on Wednesday, July 6th and Wednesday, July 13th
  • The Seafront Fun Fair returns to Bray Seafront from Saturday, July 16th to August 1st
  • Bray’s newest festival Beach BBQ Festival turns up the heat on July 16th & 17th
  • Eyes to skies as Ireland’s biggest air show the Bray Air Display returns on July 24th
  • stunning fireworks display takes place on Bank Holiday Monday, August 1st  
  • Heritage Week from August 13th to 21st

Hell & back Ireland’s toughest mental & physical endurance challenge is the country’s largest and most popular obstacle course run returns to Killruddery Estate on selected dates in June July and August. You can register for the event at hellandback.ie

Bray will mark International Day of Yoga by hosting a Yoga Day on Saturday, June 18th, at 10 am on the Seafront, where people who want to connect to their body, mind and soul will be able to join in on the celebrations.

The day aims to raise awareness about the importance and impact of yoga on people’s well-being. Yoga therapist Elaine Harris will host the 60-minute free feel-good class. The class is designed for people of all levels of fitness. It is only open to over 16’s and is weather permitting. 

So why not come along and join in… all you need to bring is your own yoga mat, towel, water and an open mind. This is a free event (No ticket required). 

The iconic Victorian bandstand on Bray Seafront will this year play host to a series of free concerts which will feature big band performances from the St. James Brass Band and plenty more. Sunday Summer Sounds will run over selected dates throughout the summer and kicks off Sunday, June 12th at 2 pm.

The Bray Seafront Art & Photography Exhibition will take place on Sunday, June 26th, Bank Holiday Monday, August 1st and Sunday, August 28th from 12 pm to 4 pm, showcasing and selling the works of local artists and photographers at the iconic Bray Bandstand. Local artists and photographers can register via bray.ie/summer2022
Movies by the bandstand are back on Wednesday, July 6th and Wednesday, July 13th. Movies and screening times will be revealed on social media in due course so please keep an eye on bray.ie’s socials. This is a free event (no ticket required). Screenings are subject to change without notice and are weather permitting.
Roll up, roll up for all the fun of the fair as the Seafront Funfair comes to town from July 16th until August 1st. Thrill-seekers can enjoy bumper cars, games, stalls and even some candy floss daily from 12 noon until 10 pm. There are special discounted tickets available on weekdays from the onsite box office (Closed July 25th & 26th).
Introducing Bray’s newest festival Beach BBQ Festival. This new family-friendly scorcher takes place along the spectacular seafront. Bringing you a sizzling selection of activities including a funfair, demos, games, DJ sets, mouth-watering BBQ & food trucks over the weekend of July 16th & 17th 2022. Get the festival lowdown at beachbbqfestival.com.  
The Bray Air Display is returning in triumphant fashion to the County Wicklow seaside town this summer, with some of the biggest names in the aviation world lined up to impress with their aerial acrobatics. The world-famous Red Arrows will make an appearance. 
There will also be a celebration of 100 years of Irish military aviation and the opportunity to see the RAF’s iconic Lancaster, Spitfire and Hurricane planes during their Battle of Britain Memorial Flight. With a funfair, food and craft village and more also on offer, there’ll be plenty to occupy families both in the air and on the ground.
It’s 2-days of action & entertainment with the weekend kicking off Saturday, July 23rd with ground entertainment followed by the airshow on Sunday, July 24th. See brayairdisplay.com for more information. 
Get set for a magical night as a stunning fireworks display takes place on Bank Holiday Monday, August 1st. 

The display itself is designed by Rocket Pyrotechnics Ireland and includes 193 approx. fireworks producing 1728 approx. projectiles, 9 flame units and 2.5 approx. tonnes of equipment which will be launched on the seafront opposite the Bandstand.

This year’s fireworks are proudly brought to you by The Martello Hotel, Bray with event build-up at 9:30 pm by East Coast FM. The radio station will also be providing the soundtrack for the display which will be launching after 10 pm on Bank Holiday Monday, August 1st.
