Annacurra notes week July 4th

Thank You

A big thank you to everyone involved in making this year’s Festival / Field day a big success. 

We were  Blessed with good weather. Thank you to those who orgainised and ran the stalls and events and sold tickets , orgainised and played in the match, donations of prizes and all sort of prizes for the various stalls, The Parish Council , members of the Parish who helped to set up beforehand and dismantled afterwards, Wicklow Co Council for their generous support. Michael Dwyer pipe band. Everyone who attended and took part. People who couldn’t attend but supported in other ways. Every other person and volunteer who was associated with the success of the day.

To everyone a sincere and heartfelt thanks.

Bishop Nash

Next weekend Bishop Nash will visit our Parish in Annacurra. He will be here for the weekend and will celebrate all the Masses. After the Saturday evening Mass there will be refreshments in the hall. After the two Sunday morning Masses there will be an opportunity to meet the Bishop. Please come along and bring the family, friends and anyone who would like to attend. It would be good to see as many people as possible  at the Masses . Donations of cakes  Biscuits and buns would be very welcome.

Patrons

The annual Patron will take place in Preban Graveyard on  Friday July 15  at 7-30 pm .

Annacurra  Sunday July 17 at 7-30.

Lotto 

Results Monday 27th June. Numbers were : 4 – 6 – 17 – 21. No Jackpot Winner. 2 Match 3 winners (€100 each) Paddy Collins, Kilpipe and Laura Lucy Kenny, Blackrock. Next weeks jackpot is €7,500.

Gaa news

Our under 15 team had a good away win in Hollywood with a 2-14 to 1-07 victory over St. Kevins. Well done lads.

Our under 12 LGFA team are improving every week and produced a great performance against St. Pat’s on Thursday. They won on a score line of 3-13 to 2-02.

Our under 13 boys had their 7th win in a row with an amazing performance against Baltinglass winning on a scoreline of 8-11 to 0-04.

Well done to all teams on a great week.

Fete

The Ballinaclash and Aughrim Fete takes place on Saturday 9th July from 2pm to 4pm in the Ballinatone Schoolhouse and grounds . There will be a raffle, tea and coffee, home baked goods, vegetables, plants , jams, jewellery, Bric a brac, books and fun and games for the children. 

All welcome.

 Tinahely Craft Market

The Tinahely Craft market is now  open on Friday as well as Saturdays. opening hours are 10-4 pm. There is a great selection of beautifully crafted pieces which make ideal gifts, please come along and support your local artisans.

Kids Craft Club

The Crafty Kids club is on Friday  July 8 / July 22 and August 12. The club will run from 10-30-12-30 am . Age 7 upwards. €15 euro includes materials. 

Have fun making dreamcatchers and wreaths.
