Music for Medicine

A midsummer concert will take place in St Brigid’s Cathedral in Kildare Town on Saturday July 23rd at 7.30pm. Artists appearing are the Gormanstown Choir with guests DARA Quartet, Elana Ryan (Viola Soloist) Ella Fallon (Organist) Mary Nolan (Harpist), Harry Carpendale( Harpist) Tickets available on Eventbrite or at the door. Proceeds towards Medical Mission for Syria.

Graveyard Mass

Dunlavin’s Graveyard Mass – will take place on Sunday, August 14th at 7pm. Please pass this date on to family and friends. Hollywood Friday July 12th 7.30pm. Thank you.

Lourdes Pilgrimage

 Lourdes Parish Pilgrimage – A 5 day pilgrimage to Lourdes will take place from 26th – 30th September 2022. The price is €635 sharing, with a single room supplement of €144. If you are interested in coming along, please contact Fr. Douglas, drop into the Parish centre or call us on 045-401871.

Culture Bus

The culture Bus will leave Dunlavin on Saturday July 16th  at 10am to visit The National Botanic Gardens , Kilmacurragh and Joly’s Garden Centre and Café Glenealy. Return to Dunlavin at 6pm. Contact 0879693960 to book a seat on the bus. Admission to both venues is free.

Clothes Collection

Donard /Glen Camogie – are doing a clothes collection for recycling. All suitable items can be dropped into the clubhouse in St. Kevin’s at training times. A list of suitable items is available on the Church notice board. This will run until 18th July. 10% of the collected proceeds will be donated to the Laura Lynn Hospice fund.

Golf Classic

Dunlavin Gaa are running a golf classic Saturday 13th August in Baltinglass Golf club.

All funds raised will go towards getting our walking track lights up and running before the winter.

Dance /Ceili

The Maureen Dennis memorial set dance ceili in the Imaal Hall on Friday June 17th at 9.30. Raised in excess of  € 1550 which  went  to St. Brigid’s Hospice , The Curragh. Thanks for all the  support .

Sympathy

Sympathy to Barry Deering and family on the death of Barry’s sister Maureen. Maureen’s funeral will take place in Scotland. May she rest in peace.

Call for a number of Part-time Retainer Fire Fighters by Wicklow County Council. Areas include Arklow, Baltinglass, Blessington, Bray, Dunlavin, Rathdrum and Tinahely.

Dunlavin Library’s opening hours are now as follows: Tuesday 5-8 , Wednesday and Friday 10-1 and 2-5 and Saturday 11-1 pm. 

Your Library card gives you free access to books and audio materials as well as access to online materials and resources including magazines, courses and Find My Past which will allow you to discover your family history. Printing and photocopying service also available. Joining is free and no late fees are chargeable on overdue items.

Panic Buttons – Anyone who is over the age of 65 may apply for a Panic Button. If you are interested, or know of someone who may require one and is living in the Dunlavin area, the necessary application form can be accessed by calling 086-1020303. 

Used Postage Stamps – Please keep your used postage stamps for St. Patrick’s Missions, Kiltegan who use them to fundraise. Stamps can be dropped into the Parish office any time. Thank you to all who have donated in the past.

ALONE – manage a national support line and additional supports for older people who may have concerns or are facing difficulties relating to the outbreak of COVID-19 (Coronavirus). Professional staff are available to answer queries and give advice and reassurance where necessary. The support line is open seven days a week, 8.00am – 8.00pm, by calling 0818 222 024

Family Carers Ireland 

Family  Carers Ireland are seeking volunteers in Dunlavin and the surrounding area to give 1 o 2 hours a week to visit an elderly person in their own home who are experiencing loneliness and isolation. The Irish Cancer Society – is looking for volunteers to drive patients to and from their chemotherapy treatments in all public hospitals nationwide.
