Families are in for a treat this summer as The Wicklow Escape opens its doors to children for the first time. The family-friendly B&B stays are ideal for those seeking a last-minute staycation in one of the most beautiful counties in Ireland.
The venue has just unveiled two family-friendly rooms, each with capacity for a family of four, or a family of eight across the two rooms. This tailored B&B experience includes overnight stays both midweek (1 night min) for €175 for up to 4 people and weekends (2-night min). Weekend room rates with breakfast are available at €240 for 2 people, €270 for 3 people and €290 for families of 4. In the morning families can avail of a freshly made continental breakfast, to be enjoyed in the Long Hall dining space or brought to the bedroom.

The four-bed family rooms feature handmade beds with local spalted beech. There are individual reading lamps, helping you to relax into a slumber of dreams and an en-suite bathroom featuring a rain-head walk in shower, gorgeous eco products and fluffy towels.
With lots to do in the surrounding area for families, including hikes, forest walks, bike hire and an on-site wood-fired outdoor hot tub, there’s plenty to keep the children and adults entertained. Nearby attractions include ancient megalithic sites, swimming in the Slaney River, Russborough house and its Birds of Prey Centre, Glendalough, and the recently opened Beyond the Trees experience at Avondale House.
As part of The Wicklow Escape’s tailored B&B experience, an evening meal add-on is available if guests wish, with a focus on locally sourced, quality ingredients and fresh garden grown produce. Children can opt for a half portion meal from the main a la carte menu or choose from the newly adapted kids’ menu which includes homemade chicken goujons or burger with oven-roasted fries or penne pasta with a fresh tomato sauce with prices from €10.
