Fire services attend major fire at a industrial unit in Arklow

Fire services from Arklow, Gorey and Wicklow attended a major fire at a unit in the Croghan Industrial Estate in Arklow on Sunday afternoon.

The Arklow fire service team were quickly to the scene as it was located in the same estate, the blaze was quickly brought under control and extinguished due to the quick response.

The fire crews were supported by by a hydraulic platform from Wicklow town and a water tanker from Greystones.

Chief Fire Officer Aidan Dempsey thanked the Ambulance service and the Gardai who also attended the scene.

There were no reports of any injuries and the cause of the blaze is not known at this time.

It has been a busy afternoon for the Fire Services in Wicklow, the Greystones crew were called to traffic accident at Blacklion in Greystones, at the same time a field fire was reported in Charlesland which the Bray fire services attended.

This evening the Rathdrum Fire service attended a field fire at Ballygannon.
