Good luck Roisin

Like George Hamilton said when David O’Leary stepped up to take the famous penalty against Romania “A nation holds its breath”, well tonight Wicklow and especially the town of Arklow will have that feeling again as Wicklow Rose Roisin Long will take to the stage in Tralee.

For weeks pictures have adorned business premises and homes throughout the town in support of the Wicklow Rose.

The Arklow girl also has massive support in Tralee as up to a hundred supporters travelled to the Kingdom for the festival.

Last week 17 roses visited County Wicklow taking in Powerscourt, Glendalough, Arklow, Avondale, Russborough and decorated cupcakes at Ballyknocken Cooking School close to Glenealy.

There is no doubt TV ratings will be up in the Garden County this evening as the County tunes in to watch our Wicklow Rose.

Friends and family of Roisin who could not make it to Tralee will be gathering at the Gallery in Arklow to watch the proceedings.

The Rose of Tralee airs on RTE One from 8pm.
