Harris supports Kilpedder Village funding application

Wicklow Fine Gael Minister Simon Harris has contacted the Chief Executive of the National Transport Authority in support of the application by the Council to apply for funding for new footpaths and public lighting in Kilpedder.

Minister Harris said: “I have been campaigning for Kilpedder to receive the attention it deserves in terms of its fair share of funding for paths and public lighting.”

The Chief Executive of Wicklow County Council has confirmed to the Minister this that the council has applied for funding in respect of footpath and public lighting improvements along the main street in Kilpedder to Willow Grove.

The Council has applied to the National Transport Authority (NTA) and Mr Harris has written to the CEO of the NTA to add my support to the project.

“Kilpedder has been considered a forgotten village as it is divided between the Wicklow and Greystones Municipal Districts,” the Minister said.

“I have been working to ensure the village is not overlooked. The Chief Executive of Wicklow County Council has also undertaken to ensure that the road sweeper will attend to the Kilpedder Village shortly”.
