Africa Irish society of Wicklow is to bring the Multicultural Festival back to Greystones this month as they celebrate diversity and cultural richness in County Wicklow.
This year’s theme is “Bringing the Heart of Wicklow Cultures to You”.
The event takes place on the 20th of August at the Burnaby Park, Greystones from 12pm-6pm.
Members of the Africa Irish Society of Wicklow (AISW) have prepared a great line up of events that will entertain the whole family throughout the day with activities such as dance, music, Educational workshops, world food tasting, comedy, and exhibitions of various countries, beatboxing and more.
The fabulous Fabu- D aka Black Paddy will be there as the MC and for a day of laughter and banter together with the world known DJ Spaqz who will have the crowd on their feet.
They have Gomba Educare facilitating cultural programmes through music, drumming, storytelling and entertainment. Also present, Anichie an eclectic band that plays different and unique sound with Balafons will be have a crowds dancing.
The amazing Moving Skirts and Zoryana will also be present dancing a storm with their majestic moves while No Wahala Dance Crew will perform various African dances with Afrobeat and Amapiano dance workshops as they are bound to have you moving and learning a few trending dance moves.
Their Education and interactive learning tent facilitated by Cakamu and KcITU will give everyone of all ages a chance to learn various phrases in numerous languages as they get to understand and feed their curiosities about different cultures and cultural practices. This will include Irish, Swahili, Arabic, Mandarin, Igbo, Polish, Ukrainian, Bengali, Hindi and more.
