The Status Orange Thunder Warning has now been extended until 10pm tonight.
Dublin and Laois have also been included in the warning which includes Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford and Munster.
Thunderstorm activity expected. Due to the sporadic nature of development, not all areas will be affected. Heavy downpours of rain and hail will occur in places. Flooding where heavy downpours occur.

TODAY – Monday 15th August
Scattered thundery showers for the rest of this morning, heaviest in the south and east, bringing a continued risk of flooding. The thunderstorms will become more intense later this afternoon and evening. Temperatures this afternoon will return closer to average, ranging from 15 to 17 degrees in the north and west, and between 18 and 23 degrees elsewhere. Light to moderate northerly winds will increase fresh to strong along Atlantic coasts.
TONIGHT
Showers will gradually die out in the south to leave a mostly dry night with clear spells. Lowest temperatures of 10 to 14 degrees, remaining warmest near the east coast. Moderate northerly breezes will be fresh at times near northward facing coasts.
