Annual street art and Graffiti Jam in Arklow today

Arklow Graffiti Jam

Artists from across the country are descending on Arklow today to take part in the Annual street art and graffiti Jam at Coral Leisure Sports Centre Building, Arklow. The building has once again been transformed into a blank canvas and there are plenty of crews converging to create throughout the weekend. Hosted by local artists, Kayde Middleton and Daragh Kenny, artists have been invited from across the country to come and paint.

The primer for this weekends event has been kindly sponsored by Arklow Municipal District Council with individual artists funding their own paint and materials for the event. Adorning the walls of Coral Leisure Centre since 2010, Kayde Middleton says ‘Spaces like this are getting harder and harder to find, especially with the amount of development taking place in Dublin and around the country.’

Each year brings an new overall theme, with Jungle, Cartoon, Video Games and Circus all having featured in previous years. Each year, the theme is decided amongst local artists and gives scope for trending themes and creativity to collide in an explosion of artistic expression.
