Free Mattress Recycling Day 2022
Kildare County Council is holding a free mattress recycling day on Sunday the 2nd of October from 9.00am to 3.00pm at the following locations:
• Silliot Hill, Brownstown, Kilcullen
• Roads Department Depot at Celbridge Interchange.
The death took place of Michael (Mick) Brady, Church Road, Dunlavin, Mick died on Sept 23rd 2022 in the loving care of the staff at Silverstream nursing home Dunlavin. Beloved husband of the late Mary and father of the late Geraldine and baby Martin. Deeply regretted by his loving son Michael (Jnr) daughter in law Eileen, son in law Seamus, grandchildren Siobhàn, Brendan, Linda, Caroline, Conor and Niamh, great-grandchildren Aoibhe and Danny, nephews, nieces relatives and friends. Mick’s funeral took place in Dunlavin.May he rest in peace.

We are run by & reliant on our volunteers and are always in need & welcoming of new faces to join and become involved in the club, the committee, coaching, fundraising, planning etc, to ensure continued growth & development from our juveniles, right up to senior level.
We sincerely urge past and present members & players, parents and all those in the community, looking to get involved in a fantastic growing club, to attend this years AGM.

Annual General Meeting
The Imaal Hall will hold their Annual General Meeting on Monday October 17th at 8pm upstairs. All community members are welcome to attend. Help is needed with the following aspects of running the hall, Bingo on Saturday Night, putting out chairs for Bingo on Saturday afternoon and taking them up on Sunday morning, help with funding applications, help with fundraising events, key holders to allow access to the hall. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Dunlavin and District Forum – are looking forward to a great day out on Sunday October 30th with Afternoon Tea in the Imaal Hall. Money raised will be to help us get prepared for our Christmas Lights and make sure we have a bright festive season in Dunlavin. The culture Bus will depart Dunlavin on Sunday October 2nd to Dublin leaving Dunlavin at 12 noon and returning at 8pm. Travellers are free to take in a play, film, gallery, music session, meet up with friends. Contact 0879693960. Dunlavin Friendship Club.

HEADSUP Kildare – are delighted to announce that they will be running a Pilot 4- week HEADSUP Women’s Programme in October in Newbridge. This is our first programme for women, and we hope to offer a full programme, following a successful pilot in October.
Dunlavin & District Forum have launched a new heritage trail around the village depicting the local history and heritage of the town. Well worth a trip around the village. Congratulations to all involved.
KARE will be running a full time, 52 Week community based Local Training Initiative Programme commencing in early October 2022. This programme is free to attend , open to all applicants, training allowance provided and any social welfare payments can be be retained while completing the course.

Mobile Recycling has Recommenced – Dunlavin 2nd Saturday outside Church of Ireland 10-12. Blessington 1st Saturday, outside Secondary School (Naas Road) 10-12. Hollywood 3rd Saturday outside the National school 10-12.
Panic Buttons – Anyone who is over the age of 65 may apply for a Panic Button. If you are interested, or know of someone who may require one and is living in the Dunlavin area, the necessary application form can be accessed by calling 086-1020303.

Family Carers Ireland are seeking volunteers in Dunlavin and the surrounding area to give 1 to 2 hours a week to visit an elderly person in their own home who are experiencing loneliness and isolation. The Irish Cancer Society – is looking for volunteers to drive patients to and from their chemotherapy treatments in all public hospitals nationwide.
