Congratulations to our under 17 footballers who had a great win over Eire Og recently in the Minor A Championship and have qualified for the semi final of this competition against Bray Emmets next Saturday October 15th in Wicklow town at 3PM. We wish them all the best in this game and we need all the support we can to get them to the final.
Huge congratulations to our Aughrim hurlers Alex Kavanagh, Dermot and Lorcan Twomey who were part of the Glen/St.Pats minor hurling team that won the minor A hurling final last Saturday. To top of a great result Alex Kavanagh was named Man of the Match, well done to all.
Finally a huge shout out to our Junior A Hurling team who brought back the Junior A Hurling title to the club recently. This was a convincing win against an unbeaten St.Pats team on a score line of Aughrim 5-18 St.Pats 4-5. It was great to see club captain Robert Lambert accept the cup on behalf of the team and to bring it to the school the following day together with Ian Clancy.
Congratulations to all involved and especially the team management, Mick Byrne, Liam Keenan snr and Christy O’ Brien.
The club would like to thank the Quigley family for donating a set of hurleys for this final, this type of practical support is very much appreciated by all involved.
The club would like to extend its sympathy to the Fleming, Martin and O’Loughlin families on their recent sad bereavements.
