Kilrush Drama Group – Presents A Night of Comedy for Halloween

In Ballyroebuck Hall commencing on Monday the 31st October and running until to Friday 4th of November at 8.00p.m nightly.

The group will perform a number of Short Comedies directed by veteran Director, Mick Byrne, and first time directors, Cathy Tighe and Mandie O’Keeffe.  The plays will feature many faces well known to Ballyroebuck and Kilrush Drama Group audiences, including: Mary Earle, Martin Hayden, Cathy Tighe, Mandie O’Keeffe, Seamus Burnell, Mary Doran, Maeve Hunter, Maurice Ruth, Caitlin Clauson, PJ Arthur , Fergus Garrett and will introduce some new faces to the Ballyroebuck stage including: Denis Eivers, Willy Murphy, Ann Hickey and Geraldine O’Sullivan.Someof the plays have a Halloween Theme, and a great night of laughter and entertainment is promised, so do come along and enjoy the fun.

Congratulations to this week’s Split the Pot winner, John Somers from Croneyhorn, Carnew who won €242.  Well done also to Jack Smyth, 5th year, who won the seller’s prize. 


Sincere sympathy is extended to the Jacob and Brown families Rathdrum on the death of Caroline (Curly) Brown who died suddenly during the week and was buried on Sunday in Rathdrum.

Split the Pot

Winner of “Split the Pot” on Friday 21st October is Willian Doran, Upper Monbay, Craanford – winning €150.  

“Split the Pot” envelopes can be had from any parent in the school or by calling into the school.  Many thanks to everyone for your support. It is much appreciated


 The lucky winner of our split the pot draw for Scoil Aodan Naofa CARNEW who won €333 was Nancy Byrne.


The seller’s prize winner who won €10 was Matei Crisan and the lucky dip winner was Ross Collins. 

Our Halloween split the pot draw takes place next Friday 28th October.

Men on the move Programme continues for another 8 weeks on Mondays at 10.30 am and Tuesdays at 10 am in Saint Brigids Hall . Each session cost €5 and lasts one hour. This Programme is suitable for all levels of fitness.

Colaiste BHride CARNEW are holding a clothes collection in St Bridget’s Hall Carnewon Wednesday 26th October from 8am -5pm, rewearable clothes, paired shoes, handbags, belts, clean bed linen, hats, no pillows or duvets please.


There is a monster darts tournament on Saturday 29th October €10 entrance fee, in McCrea’s Bar Carnew in aid of Carnew FC club.


The annual get together for Tomacork church is on Friday 4th November at 9pm in Coollattin Golf Club, music by John Flood, admission €5 tickets can be bought off any of the committee.

Kilrush Drama Group – Ballyroebuck Annual Autumn Production

The Kilrush Drama Group annual Autumn production will take place in Ballyroebuck from Tuesday the 1st of November to Saturday the 6th.    A few of our experienced members are trying their hand at directing, and have chosen a few short (comedy) plays to ensure a great week of entertainment for everyone to look forward to. Carnew Emmets GAA club are holding their AGM on Friday 25th November in The Club House, all welcome.

Tinahely Craft Market

The Tinahely Craft market is open Friday & Saturdays… opening hours are 10-4 pm. There is a great selection of beautifully crafted pieces which make ideal gifts ….please come along and support your local artisans…Starting on the Tuesday the 25th of October we are having 4 weekly  Upcycling workshops. Transform any old clothes you would like to give new life to, in to a new creation…  10-12 am and costs €15. Come along  and have some fun keeping textiles out of landfill.
