Rathdrum notes week October 10th


Applications for enrolments in junior infants of boys in Rathdrum boy’s national school and girls in our lady’s school Rathdrum for September 2023 will be accepted in the school during school hours in the week beginning the 10th October 22. Please bring your childs PPS number and a copy of their birth certificate.

Application for admission of junior infants for September 2023 will be accepted in Saint Saviours national school Rathdrum from Monday 17th October to Monday the 8th November  Any family who has filled in a notification of intention to Apply form will receive an admission form from week of the 17th October 2022 Please email the office at office@stsavioursns.com for further information.

Rathdrum Market 

Rathdrum Market extravaganza will take place on Sunday the 13th November 2022 at the Avondale gaa sports complex in Rathdrum. There will be craft stalls and christmas gift stall and delicious food stall on the day.

Avondale Camogie 

Congratulations to the Avondale U16 camogie team on their great win against Kilcoole on Wednesday night last. They advance to the semi final next week details to be confirmed.

Tractor Run
The Cooley Christmas tractor run Will take place on Sunday 4th December Glenealy Wicklow in memory of Katrion Rowan. All proceeds will go to the Wicklow Hospice Foundation. Twenty five euros admission to the event. Concert Fundraiser 

Fundraising concert Friday October 14th at 7.30pm at Saint Saviours Church Rathdrum. Singers on the night are James Kinsella and Deirdre Ni Chinneide, Liam Kinsella, John Nolan, Claire Sherry, Dennis Nolan and John Brady. All proceeds go to the Rathdrum Cancer Support group in Rathdrum.

Rathdrum Historical Society 

It was poetry, music and history on Monday evening 3rd October at the monthly meeting of the Rathdrum Historical Society. Siobhan Baker gave a very informative talk on the ladies land league and of the deep involvement of the Parnell sisters Anna and Fannie Parnell. This was complimented by Marion McEvoy’s beautiful rendition of songs she composed about the Parnell Sisters.  Marion also recited a poem which had being written by Anna Parnell herself. A talk on Michael Davitt will be the topic of the November Meeting hosted by the Rathdrum Historical society, Parnell A.C 

Congratulations and well done to all athletes who took part in the Wicklow intermediate cross country last Sunday in Avondale. Brilliant results by all with both men and womens teams taking team gold.

Beyond the trees Avondale 

Congratulations to beyond the trees Avondale team who won the Tourism and Hospitality project of the year at the Irish building and design awards

The rosary will be recited in Greenane church every Monday Night at 7.30pm during the month of October.


Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at 9pm in Rathdrum parish church. Tuesday Eucharistic service at 9pm in Rathdrum parish church. Saturday 6pm in Rathdrum parish church. Sunday 9am in Clara Vale church (alternate weeks). Sunday 10.15am in Greenane parish church (alternate weeks). Sunday 11.30am in Rathdrum Parish church each week. Public holidays 11am in Rathdrum parish church  


Confessions will be heard before vigil mass on Saturday evening or ask Fr Derek Doyle Prayers for vocations.  
After mass on a Wednesday morning. Eucharistic Adoration every Wednesday after mass. 
Rosary and Prayer Group after 9am mass on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday after eucharistic service on Tuesday and before mass on a Friday. Rosary in the famine graveyard 10.00am on the 1st Saturday of each month.

Dates For Your Diary 

The annual remembrance mass will be held on Saturday the 26th November 2022 at 6pm in the parish church in Rathdrum.

 The christmas craft fair will take place in the R.D.A  hall Rathdrum on Sunday the 27th November from 1pm till 5pm.

 Talk care of the earth will take place in the  R.D.A hall Rathdrum on the 30th November 2022 at 7.30pm

A meeting of the pastoral Council will take place in the parochial house on Monday 7th November 2022 at 8pm.
