Arklow Sailing Club to host end of season Awards night

After a great 2022 season Arklow Sailing Club are delighted to be hosting their end of Season Dinner /Prize Giving Ceremony in the Arklow Bay Hotel on the 26th of November.

Commodore of the Cub, Seamus Cramer explained that this is the first time in over two years due to Covid that the Club is able to celebrate what has become an annual event.

The club has had a very busy season running up to twenty five racing events for club members usually taking place most weeks on Wednesday Evenings and Saturdays with up to twelve yachts participating during the events.

Seamus tells us that they were also delighted with the response to TrySailing which allowed up to twenty new people experience what it was like to sail on cruiser racing yachts over the season. Most of the participants went on to gain yacht racing experience and also have since become members of the club.
With the New Water Treatment Plant coming on stream over the coming years which will clean up the river and hopefully the dredging of the river the club is very excited about restoring youth sailing to the club which like any sport is the life blood of the club.

The future of sailing in Arklow is alive and well.
