GAA Club News

Our under 19 footballers had their first outing in this year’s competition against St. Kevin’s last Sunday at home and came away with a convincing win Aughrim 4-8 ,St. Kevin’s 1-7. Our performance in the first half was very impressive however we struggled badly in the second half and against stronger opposition it could have proven costly.  Last Sunday week our minor football team gave a brilliant performance in the minor county final against a very strong A.G.B. team. We lost out by the minimum margin and certainly had chances in the second half to come away with a win but unfortunately things did not go our way. This management and team have done our club proud all year and lost nothing in this narrow defeat, well done to all. The club would like to extend its sympathy to the Doyle family on the sad passing of Aughrim clubman Jimmy Doyle R.I.P. Jimmy’s presence will be sadly missed at all our matches and club events.
We would like to pass on our condolences to the Harvey family on the death of former Aughrim club trainer Vincent R.I.P.
