Carnew first responders are holding an information evening on Wednesday 23rd November at 7.30pm in tge meeting room in Carnew GAA grounds, want some more information on volunteering with the group? Pop in for a chat and a cuppa.

Bunclody Christmas Market is on Saturday 26th November..outside on the street weather permitting and if not it will be in the hall in bunclody …please support local crafters and makers ….we look forward to seeing you all ..over 30 stalls of all sorts local ..Merry Christmas Ho Ho Ho ..

Split the Pot

Winner of “Split the Pot” on Friday 11th November is Lisa Beasley, c/o Ballyellis NS – winning €150.  

Split the Pot” envelopes can be had from any parent in the school or by calling into the school.  Many thanks to everyone for your support. It is much appreciated


The lucky winner of our split the pot draw for Scoil Aodan Naofa CARNEW who won €307 was Teegan Darcy.

Congratulations. The seller’s prize winner who won €10 was Tom O’Brien and the lucky dip winner was Fíbí Nolan.

Carnew Community Care – Charity Shop 

Carnew Community Care and our volunteers are delighted to finally reopen the Charity Shop at the Day Centre after COVID.   The Shop will reopen on Wednesday the 23rd and Thursday the 24thof November from 11am until 3pm.    

The Charity Shop will remain open every week on Tues, Wed and Thurs from 11am until 3pm.   Donations are being accepted during the shop opening times.  We regret that we cannot take electrical goods, books, toys  and some baby equipment items. 

Please call in advance of dropping in with donations – 053 94 26510.   We look forward to welcoming everyone back to the Charity Shop at the Day Centre where the volunteers have made a great job of displaying all the bargains to be had.  

Crafting at Carnew Community Care 

Crafting Afternoons are continuing on Tuesdays at Carnew Community Care from now until Christmas from 2pm to 4pm.    We have had a taste of paper crafting and cross stitch in the last two weeks.   Those attending loved both crafts and have decided that from next Tues the 22nduntil Christmas that they will try Paper Crafting, kindly being led by Betty Commiskey.  
– some may even try their hand at making some Christmas cards.  
All are welcome to attend,  we request a donation of €3 towards costs.   


Carnew Emmets GAA club are holding their AGM on Friday 25th November in The Club House, all welcome.

Carnew Musical Society – Forth Coming Show – Guys & Dolls

Guys and Dolls, directed by Michael Dunbar, Musical Director, Conor McCarthy and Choreographer, Frances Ryan will run in St. Brigid’s Hall Carnew from Monday the 21st of November to Saturday the 26th. Booking this year for Carnew Musical Society’s production of Guys & Dolls is now available on line.  Tickets prices range from €10 –€20 (+ booking fee) from

Askamore Community Council with the support of Wexford IFA & Wicklow IFA are hosting a series of Seminars on four consecutive Tuesday evenings from Nov 22nd 2022 until Dec 13th 2022 starting @ 7.30pm until 9.30pm in Askamore Community Centre. The cost is e10 per night or e25 for the four nights. Proceeds to the upkeep of the Hall. Refreshments will be served each night, good conversation and company is guaranteed.

Askamore Singers

Askamore Singers started up before Covid and are delighted to be returning on 3rd of November to the community centre in Askamore.

Time 7:30 to 9.

Coach Honor Heffernan Fee €50 per 4-week term.

Our aim is to visit nursing homes and day care centres and entertain with some great songs, starting with Christmas songs and also singing for the turning on of the Christmas lights in Askamore. This is a great way to improve your voice and gain skills and confidence and perform for people who will really love it. Everybody Welcome, whether you’re a newbie or a seasoned professional, this is suitable for men & women of all abilities.


Men on the move Programme continues for another 8 weeks on Mondays at 10.30 am and Tuesdays at 10 am in Saint Brigids Hall . Each session cost €5 and lasts one hour. This Programme is suitable for all levels of fitness.

Askamore Christmas Indoor Market will take place on Sunday December 4th.

Congratulations to Carnew Emmet’s GAA club on winning the All Ireland Scor in Castlebar on Saturday night with their sketch The Great Prentender with cast James Doran, Fergus Kinsella, Tom Darcy, Emma Culkin, Tom Culkin, Christina Kinsella and John O’Hara. Well done to all involved and to all who travelled.
