I, as chairperson (Aidan Kinsella) on behalf of the Carnew Back Alley Development Committee I would like to thank the four Candidates who ran for Mayor of Carnew.

Our candidates were Majella representing McCreas, Chucky representing Sinnotts, Bert representing Jim Byrnes and Jimmy representing Kenny’s Corner House.

Thanks to the local businesses who supported the candidates  fundraisers and also to the public whose generosity has been fantastic, not only throughout the Mayor campaign but also over the past eight years when we began our Back Alley Development fundraising.  This is a great opportunity to us getting our Skate Park started which is a much needed facility for the older children in the community and surrounding areas.

Huge congratulations to Jimmy representing Kenny’s Corner House who was announced Mayor of Carnew on Saturday night 29th last. An enjoyable night of music, dance and celebrations was had by all this fundraising event was ran in conjunction with Carnew Community Care. Once again i would like to  take this opportunity, on behalf of the Carnew Back Alley Development Committee to thank you, the public for your continued support.

We will now take a short break from fundraising until the New year. We wish the local soccer club which is a separate Committee than we are the best of luck in their upcoming fundraising events.

Our Novelty Group face her for Castlebar where they will be up against strong competition from Counties Sligo, Tipperary and Armagh.

Scór has been a stronghold in Carnew Emmets since 2000.

Our Novelty Group last won an All Ireland in 2011.

We wish them luck in their search for the All Ireland title on November 12th.
