Wicklow Minister Simon Harris is delighted to announce that the Department of Education has today approved a huge extension for Wicklow’s East Glendalough Secondary School. Today the Department has sanctioned the large-scale extension along with wide-ranging refurbishment and renewal works.

Minister Harris said, “I am delighted to announce the Department of Education’s decision to approve an important extension for the East Glendalough Secondary School, providing a great range of new opportunities for the school.”

“This extension will enhance the school experience that students of East Glendalough receive during their time in the school. The additional refurbishment and reconfiguration works will help adapt areas of the school in order to ensure East Glendalough can continue to provide a high-quality education to all of its students.”

“As the Minister for Further and Higher Education, I spend every day working to improve the educational opportunities and facilities for students across Wicklow and the country at large. I warmly welcome this large-scale investment into our county’s education system. The extra classrooms included in this extension will go a long way in providing increased school capacity for an area with a growing population.”

“I would also like to congratulate the principal and staff of East Glendalough Secondary School, whose hard work and commitment helped in getting this project over the line. I am very much looking forward to continuing to work with the school and staff into the future” Minister Harris concluded.
