Rememberance Walk being held in Greystones this Sunday

Rememberance Walk

The last few years have seen more than their fair share of lives lost and loved ones taken too soon. That’s why Greystones woman Sharon Felton has organised a Rememberance Evening and walk this Sunday, 4th December in Greystones. You are invited to come along and join with family, friends and those who are also missing people close to them to remember those who have gone before us. Meeting point is Burnaby Park, Greystones at 6pm.

Greystones Tidy Towns have shown solidarity with the Remeberance event and will be offering white crocus bulbs to anyone who would like to plant them on the evening. These bulbs will flower in Spring and not only will they brighten up the town but they will remind loved ones of those they have cherished and lost for many years to come.

If you would like to plant a bulb and have a trowel at home, you are encouraged to bring it along, alternatively, you can borrow one on the night.

Greystones Family Resource Centre are kindly supplying tea light candles and paper bags to write our loved ones names on.

Cafe Gourmet in Greystones are also providing tea, coffee and hot chocolate for the event. Don’t forget to wrap up warmly! All are welcome.

Sharon is no stranger to rallying the community and bringing people together. You may have come across her name or one of her many other events that she has organised over the years. From her fundraising for Pieta House, Irish Cancer Society, Together for Homeless, Fundraisers for the beautiful Jade McCann, Ukraine Fundraisers in conjunction with Colette Talbot, Darkness into Light and of course the 2019 rememberance event at Greystones Harbour to name just some of the community events we can Thank Sharon for.
