The woman who died following a collision close to Baltinglass has been named as Belfast-based playwright Jo Egan.
Ms Egan died in a two-vehicle collision happened on the N81 at Mullycagh Lower.
The driver of the second vehicle, a man in his 30s, was taken to Tallaght Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Gardaí have appealed for any witnesses to the collision, or any road users who were in the area between 11.30pm and midnight and may have camera footage, to contact Baltinglass Garda Station on 059 6482610.
