Carnew notes week December 19th


Sincere sympathy is extended to the family and relatives of Lar Lee, Beechmount who died during the week and was buried on Friday in Carnew cemetery.


We wish Margaret Colgan, Tinahely all the best on her retirement From Colaiste Bhride Carnew after 44 years, the very best of luck Margaret.

Christmas Eve Saturday 24th Coolfancy 5pm, Shillelagh 6.30pm, Carnew 8pm, Kilrush 6pm, Askamore 7.30pm

Christmas Day Sunday 25th Tomacork 9pm, Coolfancy 10am, Carnew 11am, Kilrush 10am, Askamore 11am.

Monday 26th St Stephens Day Kilrush 10am.

The GAA are having their annual Christmas draw on Thursday 22nd December at 8.30pm in Sinnott’s, 1st prize €500 cash, 2nd load of sticks, 3rd drinks hamper, 4th food hamper plus other prizes in the night, tickets €5 available from any member or Victor Young’s.


The Sacrament of Reconciliation will be held in Askamore church on Thursday 22nd December at 6.30pm and Kilrush church at 7.30pm.


Carnew Community Care are holding their annual Christmas draw on 21st December , prizes are 1st – €500 voucher for home heating oil, 2nd – €200 cash, 3rd – €50 voucher for Centra, 4th – €50 voucher for Topline, 5th – Christmas hamper, 6th- €50 voucher for McGirr’s chemist, 7th – Community Cake Christmas cake. Tickets are €2 each or three for €5, tickets on sale from any of the committee or the Centre or the Pop up shop on Friday, all support greatly appreciated.
