Sunday 18th December saw the launch of the inaugural 6,800 dead weight tonnage cargoship amidst a wintry scene on the banks of the Winschoterdiep Canal in the Netherlands. The ship is the first in a new series commissioned for Arklow Shipping (ASL) and a welcome return to the Royal Bodewes ShipYard, Netherlands for ASL since the launch of the 10 vessel V-series from the same yard in 2018.
The newly launched ship bears the trademark green and maroon hull colours which have become synonymous with Arklow Shipping. Although easy to identify the fleet by its colours, the ship unusually, appeared to be launched before it had had its name inscribed on the hull.
