Carnew notes week January 16th


Sincere sympathy is extended to the family and relatives of Kathleen O’Rourke nee O’Brien, Valley Heights, Carnew who died during the week and was buried on Friday in Carnew cemetery.

To the family and relatives of Patricia (Patty) Lawler, Ballynultagh, Shillelagh who died during the week and was buried on Friday in Shillelagh cemetery.

To the family and relatives of Richard (Dick) Southern, Ballykitty, Arklow who died recently and was buried on Friday.

Split the Pot

Winner of “Split the Pot” on Friday 13th January 2023 is Ann Browne, Myshall c/o Martin Kehoe  – winning €125.

Congratulations to Aisling Kennedy , 5th year who is this week’s winner of the Split the Pot draw.  Well done also to Rita Keating who won the seller’s prize. 

 Askamore Community Council

 As a follow up to our”Let’s Keep The Head Right”  seminars “Talk To Tom” will be running a certified one day course in Askamore Hall on Sunday January 22nd 2023 from 1pm-8pm. Facilitator Ray Cullen will relay the benefits of QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer)

This well worth course is free of charge. Food & Refreshments served on the day and a donation of e5/e10 towards same would be appreciated but not essential.Booking essential by Wednesday January 18th 2023. Queries to Sean on 0872898805 or Askamore Hall Office on 0852156848

Registration night for September 2023 will take place in Little Acornson Wednesday 1st February from 7-8pm.
Be aware places are limited, we work on a first come first serve basis.
This must be attended by those who have already registered also to guarantee a place.
For those wishing for their child to be put on our waiting list for both September 2024 and September 2025 we do have a separate form which you need to fill in and return to be added onto our waiting list.
This is recommended as spaces in The Little Acorns Playschool fill very quickly. 

The Mens exercise programme will resume on January 9th for 8 weeks at €40 in the meeting room in the GAA grounds for more information contact or contact Denise O’Shea on 0879669634 or come along on the first day and see for yourself, more men welcome.
