Pilgrimage to Medjugorje 2023

A fully escorted  pilgrimage will take place from April 4th to 11th 2023. Direct return flights from Dublin.€755. A deposit of €100 secures a place.

School Enrolment

Enrolments now being accepted for Scoil Nicholas Naofa for 2023 Junior infants class. Forms available online from  ssndunlavin@gmail.com or from the school office. Enrolments must be in by January 31st.


Thanks to all who organised the St Stephen’s day fundraiser in aid of St Kevin’s Community College and Scoil Nicholas Naofa. Over €2,150 was raised. Special thanks to all who supported..

Baby and Toddler Group

Dunlavin Baby and Toddler Group – is back in Seomra (Imaal Hall) on Wednesdays from 9:30am-12noon. Please come along for a play and a cuppa. All welcome

Dunlavin Library

Dunlavin Library’s opening hours are now as follows: Tuesday 5-8 , Wednesday and Friday 10-1 and 2-5 and Saturday 11-1 pm. 

Your Library card gives you free access to books and audio materials as well as access to online materials and resources including magazines, courses and Find My Past which will allow you to discover your family history. Printing and photocopying service also available. Joining is free and no late fees are chargeable on overdue items. Great selection of new films in stock for young and old.

Mobile Recycling has Recommenced – Dunlavin 2nd Saturday outside Church of Ireland 10-12. Blessington 1st Saturday, outside Secondary School (Naas Road) 10-12. Hollywood 3rd Saturday outside the National school 10-12.

Panic Buttons – Anyone who is over the age of 65 may apply for a Panic Button. If you are interested, or know of someone who may require one and is living in the Dunlavin area, the necessary application form can be accessed by calling 086-1020303. 

Used Postage Stamps – Please keep your used postage stamps for St. Patrick’s Missions, Kiltegan who use them to fundraise. Stamps can be dropped into the Parish office any time. Thank you to all who have donated in the past.

Libraries have re-opened . Lots of exciting books in store, especially for children.

ALONE – manage a national support line and additional supports for older people who may have concerns or are facing difficulties relating to the outbreak of COVID-19 (Coronavirus). Professional staff are available to answer queries and give advice and reassurance where necessary. The support line is open seven days a week, 8.00am – 8.00pm, by calling 0818 222 024

Family Carers Ireland 

Family  Carers Ireland are seeking volunteers in Dunlavin and the surrounding area to give 1 o 2 hours a week to visit an elderly person in their own home who are experiencing loneliness and isolation. The Irish Cancer Society – is looking for volunteers to drive patients to and from their chemotherapy treatments in all public hospitals nationwide. Volunteers will need their own car but all expenses are paid. If you have 2 free days a month (Monday – Friday) and an active email address we would love to hear from you. The death has taken place of Seamus (James) Byrne, Late of Johannesburg, South Africa and formerly of Kilcullen Street, Dunlavin, Co. Wicklow. Predeceased by his beloved wife Mary (née Joyce). His parents Joe and Kathleen and his brother Colum. Seamus will be sadly missed by his brothers and sisters, Nicholas, Rosemary, Gerard, Marian, Dominic and Katherine. His brothers in law, sisters in law, nieces, nephews, extended family and his many friends in South Africa. May Seamus rest in peace.


The death took place of Birdie Ryan, 21 Church terrace, Dunlavin. Peacefully, at Naas General Hospital. Birdie will be sadly missed by her daughter Angela [Tracey], sons Michael and Declan, son in law Sean, daughters in law Helen and Linda, brother in law Jack, sisters in law Mag Ryan and Sarann [English], nine grandchildren, relatives and her wide circle of friends.Birdie’s funeral took place in Dunlavin. May she rest in peace.


Sympathy to Frank and Leslie Barrett on the death of their sister Carol Ashmore Sadly, missed by her beloved husband Brian, much loved mother of Jonathon and Steve, grandchildren Ellie and Ria Carol, daughters-in-law Claire and Jane, brothers Frank and Leslie, brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Carol’s funeral took place in  St John’s Church, Fontstown , burial afterwards in the adjoining graveyard. May Carol rest in peace.


Sympathy to Mary Sexton and family on the death of Mary’s brother Billy Hyland. Billy passed away in America and Mary travelled over with her sisters to the funeral. May Billy rest in peace.

Sympathy also to Donna Byrne and family on the death of Donna’s mother Teresa Holt. Teresa’s funeral took place in Offaly, may she rest in peace.


The death took place of The Very Reverend Kevin Lyon  (Caomhín de Líon, Sagart), Archdeacon of Glendalough, late of Crosschapel, Blessington. December 31st, 2022. Peacefully in the tender loving care of the Staff of Craddock House Nursing Home, Naas. Will be sadly missed by his nieces, nephews, cousins and family, parishioners, neighbours, friends, Archbishop Dermot Farrell, and the Priests of the Archdiocese of Dublin. Funeral Mass took place in Blessington with burial in Sutton. 

May his gentle soul rest in Peace
