Christmas Tree Recycling|South Beach Car Park

Christmas trees can be recycled until 21 January 2023.

They will be shredded,  composted and used again !!

No wreaths,  plastic trees or decorations please.

          Monday to Friday      9 am to 4.00 pm

          Saturday                 9 am to 1.45 pm

Applications for funding are being accepted from 9 January to 27 January 2023.

There are three schemes:

  • Artist(s) and Communities Collaboration Award Scheme 2023

Anam Cara Wicklow Monthly Meeting for Bereaved Parents

Monday,  16 January 2023;  Parkview Hotel Newtownmountkennedy;  7:15 p.m.

Monthly meeting of wonderful organisation that supports bereaved parents.

This meeting is only for parents who have lost children.

Anam Cara Wicklow offers a safe and comfortable setting.

Bereaved parents will have the opportunity to meet with other bereaved parents.

The evening is free and open to all bereaved parents.

Regardless of the age your child died,  the circumstances of their death.

Or whether their death was recent or not.

Anam Cara is the only organisation of its kind in Ireland with services to bereaved parents.

Anam Cara was launched in 2008 in recognition of the need for a safe space for bereaved parents.

A place where a bereaved parent can let the mask drop.

And where others might understand what family members and friends cannot.

St. Patrick’s Soup and Sandwiches Luncheons|17 January 2023

Very popular Soup and Sandwich Luncheons are held each month.

St. Patrick’s Church,  Church Road,  Greystones.

Tuesday,  17 January 2023,  12.30 pm to 2 pm.

And each Third Tuesday of the month.

Suggested donation of €5 will go to charity.

Come along for fresh,  homemade food and meet up with friends,  old and new !!

Luncheon includes a wide variety of soups,  sandwiches and cakes,  specially made just for you.

You will be made most welcome.

Come by yourself or bring a friend.

Greystones Archaeological & Historical Society Talk|18 January 2023

“The Museum of Childhood” with Majella McAllister

Kilian House Family Centre,  beside Holy Rosary Church;  8 pm.

Majella McAllister is Chair and Youth Voices Team Lead of the Museum and its founder.

Her background is in education,  sustainability,  entrepreneurship,  history and literature.

Project 2020 Together,  Le Chéile,  began a wordwide study of voices of children during Covid pandemic.

The project was Majella’s concept.

Majella has many stories to tell !!

GAHS looks forward to seeing you on the night to hear them all !!

Wicklow County Council|Killincarrig Village Improvement Scheme

WCC proposes improvements to Killincarrig Village.

These improvements include signalised junction,  new footpaths,  new zebra crossing,  improved junction layouts,  improved footpaths,  cycle climbing lane,  loading bay and realignment of road carriageway.

Plans may be inspected at Greystones Municipal District until 16 January 2023.

Submissions and observations may be made via Online Consultation Hub (wicklow.ie)

They must be received by 30 January 2023 at 12 noon.

This fund helps owners and custodians of archaeological monuments to safeguard them.

Wicklow County Council invites applications from owners of historic buildings,  protected structures and structures within Architectural Conservation Areas.

There are two grant schemes:

  • Built Heritage Investment Scheme 2023

Come along to listen or at the Blues Jam Session.

Hosted by the Urban Mojo Blues Band.

They will play some tunes and you can play some tunes or join in.
