Wicklow’s Young Scientist Expo launches this Friday

BT Young Scientist 2023

‘Having visited all the students from Wicklow at their stands at the BT Young Scientists exhibition last week, I am delighted, along with Rachel Harper principal of St. Patrick’s National School in Greystones and coordinator of Greystones Youth Café to welcome them all back to the Wicklow Young Scientists Expo in Greystones Youth Café this Friday at 7pm.’

‘With nine amazing and inspiring entries from Wicklow last week, from five of our Wicklow schools at the BT Young Scientists exhibition, Wicklow Young Scientists Expo is yet another opportunity for these young minds to be showcased with pride to the community,’ continues Deputy Whitmore

‘All the Wicklow Young Scientists represented themselves, their schools and their communities with pride and the Wicklow Young Scientists Expo is another opportunity to have their achievements and scientific contributions acknowledged and applauded.  It is also an opportunity for the students to network with each other. Who knows, maybe this connection will lay the foundations for a Wicklow Wide collaborative scientific project in the future.’

‘Speaking of future, to see such enthusiasm and interest in science among these young people fills me with inspiration. Participation in initiatives such as The Wicklow Young Scientists Expo and the BT Young Scientists Exhibition is a great attribute to have when referring to their experiences on CV’s or college applications or job applications.’

‘Not everyone had the opportunity to visit the students as they presented their projects last week so The Wicklow Young Scientist Expo is another chance to see how amazing the students and their projects are.  I look forward to learning more about their projects on Friday Night.’
