Cllr Rory O’Connor has welcomed the announcement of a new low-speed limit in Enniskerry village, which will take effect on the 1st of June. The new speed limit will be set at 30 kp/h, making the village safer for pedestrians, cyclists and motorists alike.
The introduction of the new low-speed limit followed a period of public consultation lasting from October 12th to November 25th. Cllr O’Connor has been a vocal advocate for the new limit, arguing that it will help to reduce accidents and create a more pleasant and welcoming environment in the village.
“I am delighted to welcome the introduction of the new low-speed limit in Enniskerry village,” said Cllr O’Connor. “This is a positive step towards creating a safer and more livable community for everyone who lives and works here.”
” I strongly believe villages are made for people and not cars. This is a big step forward to realise that vision. The safety aspect will also help create peace at mind for parents. As we have two big primary schools within the Enniskerry with kids often prevalent in the village. This will create a level of safety for them and reduce the chances of an accident “
