Rathdrum Saint Patrick’s Parade Grand-Marshals Announced 

Jimmy O Shaughnessy chairman of the Rathdrum Saint Patrick’s day parade committee has announced that the row hard go home crew consisting of Derek Mc Mullen, Tom Nolan, Shane Culleton, Gearoid and Diarmuid O Brian will be grand-marshals and leading the 2023 Rathdrum Saint Patrick’s Day Parade.

They were bestowed the honour at a recent meeting of the Rathdrum Saint Patrick’s Day Parade committee.  

The five men who set a new world record by rowing three thousand miles from Laga Meara in Spain to Antigua in Caribbean. They broke the record by two full days off the previous record for the fastest crossing rowers in the trans-Atlantic Taliskers whisky challenge 2022 and raising vital funds for the Laura Lynn Foundation and R.N.L.I  and Rathdrum Cancer Support. 

The chairman Jimmy O Shaughnessy  said that he is delighted that the parade is going ahead it attracts a lot of people from Rathdrum and surrounding areas, he is urging  that all clubs and schools and organisations get involved and make the 2023 parade a success.

Walking Group for Parents of the Rathdrum Schools

Wicklow Sports and Recreation Partnership are organising a 6 week walk n talk group. This  instructor lead walking programme will start on Tuesdays at 9.30am . It will commence on Tuesday 21st February and meet at the RDA Hall in Rathdrum. All parents from the local schools are welcome to take part in this programme. It is a great way to meet other people from the area and get some exercise as well.

Rathdrum And Wicklow Gymnastic Club 

New spaces available and are up live on the website for both Rathdrum and Wicklow with spaces in our age 3-5 years old and age 6+ gymnastic classes spaces are limited so please book online quickly to avoid disappointment. 

Irish Heart Foundation  Mobile Unit

The Irish heart foundation mobile health  unit will be visiting the libraries in Wicklow during the Month of February.  Tuesday the 21st February from 10am to 4.45pm, the I.H.F. mobile unit will parked outside the Rathdrum Library and we encourage everyone to avail of the service.

Expert nurses on board will check your blood pressure and pulse and provide advice to help boost your heart health.

Rathdrum Library Storytime 

Wicklow county council library service are having a storytime session in the Rathdrum library on Saturday the 18th of February 2023.

There will be two session  3-5 years old 11am to 11.30am 6-8 year olds 11.45am to 12.15pm
