Bray Municipal District has announced its plan to allocate approximately €100,000 for drainage spending in 2023. The funding will be used to carry out vital drainage works in several areas including Cookstown Road, Calary Lane, Loreto Avenue, and Waterfall Road.
In addition to the €100,000 allocated per district, Bray Municipal District intends to submit a business case to Wicklow County Council for an extra €280,000 to fund drainage works on Quill Road, Church Hill, and Glencormick.
Cllr Rory O’Connor expressed his satisfaction with the announcement, saying: “I am delighted to see this funding allocated to the Bray Municipal District for drainage works. These works are essential for reducing the risk of flooding in the area and improving the local infrastructure. I would like to welcome the announcement and look forward to seeing the benefits of these works for our local communities.”
The proposed works include flood relief measures, road drainage improvements, and culvert repairs, all aimed at reducing the risk of flooding and improving road safety.
The works are scheduled to take place in 2023, subject to funding approval.
