Crazy Cafe launches Boba Tea in Arklow

Boba Tea has arrived in South Wicklow!

Thanks to the gang down at the Crazy Cafe on Arklows Main Street who are always coming up with new ways to tantalise our taste buds. Their latest addition to the ever surprising menu is Boba Tea or Bubble Tea as it is also known.

Originating in Taiwan in the 80’s, the trend had spread to California and Los Angeles by the 90’s through the Immigration of Taiwanese migrants. Over the course of the next 30 years, it has managed to spread to all corners of the world, including Wicklow.

Since Bubble Tea has hit Irish shores, it has been embraced with Bubble Tea shops popping up all over the country and all manner of flavours now available. The tea based drink can be either fruit or milk infused. Throw in a bunch of curiously chewy tapioca pearls and there you have it – ‘Bubble Tea’. The tapioca balls themselves now come in different flavours too meaning you can choose a base flavour aswell as a ‘sub-flavour’.

We bumped into Joanne and Leanne on launch day at Crazy Cafe and they gave it a 10/10!

With the consumer more discerning than ever, the pressure is on to have not only the tastiest products but also the most photo friendly for the sake of social media and bubble tea was made to be photographed.
