Surfers safe following multi agency search off Wicklow Coast

A large multi agencies rescue search took place this morning off the Wicklow coast following reports of a surfers in difficulty at Magheramore close to Brittas Bay.

Wicklow Town and Greystones coastguard units along with RNLI lifeboats from Wicklow and Arklow and the Rescue 116 helicopter carried out an extensive search of the area from land sea and the air.

The search was stood down after surfers managed to make their way back to safety after being caught in dangerous currents.
