Jack Whites apply for permission to build an upmarket campsite

The current owners of the notorious Jack Whites Pub at Brittas Bay have lodged an application to extend the activity at the landmark pub to include overnight accommodation.

The planning application made to Wicklow Council proposes adding a glamping site to the rear of the property. Owners Claire and Tadgh Kennedy are looking at including 57 pitches made up of camper van, shepherd’s huts and glamping pitches. The proposal also includes amenity blocks which include washrooms, toilets, reception, administration offices and a shop along with back of house storage facilities.

The application is subject to the granting of a separate planning application which has been submitted in order to upgrade a current septic tank to sewage treatment system.
