Greystones Library|Gaelscoil na gCloch Liath|Marine Projects Exhibition

Continues until Friday,  2 June 2023

Greystones Library,  Mill Road.

Wonderful exhibition of marine life projects.

The projects are the work of Fourth Class pupils from Gaelscoil na gCloch Liath.

Some of the projects are displayed on the door of the library.

Others are on display throughout the library.

All are welcome to come along and see the children’s excellent work !!

Understanding Eating Disorders|31 May 2023|7 pm

Online meeting with Harriet Parsons from Bodywhys.

Harriet will talk about eating disorders and how to best support someone affected by them.

Bodywhys is The Eating Disorders Association of Ireland.

The group is the national voluntary organisation for eating disorders.

It offers a wide range of supports for people affected by eating disorders,  including family and friends.

Delgany Thursday Group Outing to Japanese Gardens & National Stud Kildare

Thursday,  1 June 2023.  Coach leaves Christ Church Delgany,  10:30 am.

Cost of trip is €45 per person,  to include coach,  guided tour of the National Stud.

Refreshments will be at participants’ own expense,  Café on site.

Due to increased cost of coach transport,  trip cannot proceed without 20 participants.

Greystones Active Retirement Association|Outing to Bloom|1 June 2023

GARA are organising a Members’ trip to The Bloom Festival in Dublin.

If you are interested in going,  please contact Elsie Kelly,  087 746 8426.

Elsie will be organising the round trip bus transport.

The trip will only be possible if sufficient numbers will be going.

Bord Bia Bloom is now in its 17th year.

It is one of Ireland’s largest showcases.

Celebrating the best of Irish horticulture,  food and drink.

Bloom tickets are booked directly with the festival.

Bus transport is being booked through Elsie Kelly.

The Plaza Market|Greystones Harbour Marina|4 June 2023

New market at Greystones Harbour Marina opens on 4 June 2023.

The market will run each Sunday until 27 August 2023.

Sponsored by Greystones Tidy Towns.

Offering wide and diverse activities:  artists,  crafters,  photographers,  gourmet foods.

And much much more !!

Stalls will be charged €25,  towards Greystones Tidy Towns projects.

Four stalls will be allocated each week to local community groups and clubs.

Groups can showcase what they do,  recruit volunteers and fundraise.

There is no fee and places will be allocated on a first come,  first served basis.

Greystones Fire Station,  Victoria Road;  12 Noon.

There will be two categories to the Greystones Fire Brigade CPR Challenge.

A Rescue Professional category and a Community category.

You can test your skills on the day.

Or simply try out CPR with professionals.

A BBQ lunch will be provided.

Special Notes from our Community Gardaí,  Maria Curtis and Sandra Tierney:

  • Parents are asked to speak to their children about graffiti.

Paint was sprayed on the grass in Burnaby Park last Saturday.

  • Reports coming in that youths are pulling up plants in the Burnaby Park Sensory Garden.

The Sensory Garden is a beautiful new amenity,  please be on the alert to keep it safe.

  • Community Guards were of assistance to Greystones Fire Brigade recently.

They witnessed a male breaking into a Fire Brigade vehicle.

Male was arrested and brought before the courts.

  • Community Guards are collecting contact details from Neighbourhood Watch Coordinators.

If your group is not receiving emails from Community Guards,  please let them know.

Neighbourhood Watch Coordinators’ meetings are being organised.

  • Special congratulations to Anne Waithira Burke and her colleagues for Africa Day last Saturday.

Activities will be finishing up shortly for the summer break.

Monday         2.30 pm to 4.30 pm           Informal Art Group,  with guidance.

          Tuesday        10.45 am to 12.45 pm         Short Mat Bowling

          Thursday       2.30 pm to 4.15 pm           Bingo

Chair Yoga and Art Group will continue until 26 June 2023.

Short Mat Bowling and Bingo will finish the end of May.

All activities will resume week commencing 4 September 2023.
