Arklow Racquetball have been busy preparing for the 40th Irish Open Racquetball Championships for quite some time now and the excitement this week is palpable. Today marks the 7 day countdown to the big event which is being hosted by Arklow Racquetball Club at Coral Leisure Sports Complex

A number of high profile International players will be in attendance over the course of the Championships including Maria Renee Rodríguez, Andres Acuña and Lalo Portillo along with Cole Sendrey, one of the top rising junior players in the sport.


A small but very active club, there is always an event on the agenda for the Racquetball Crew. Just a taster of some of the things they have gotten upto since the start of the year….
January welcomed wins for Arklow Racquetball at the Tralee Open Championships. February saw 10 new Coaches being put through their paces to earn their coaching awards. March saw Arklow bringing home 5 Medals from the All Ireland Championships in Fermoy and in April, Arklow Racquetball Club were able to send Antonia Neary out to Seoul, South Korea for the Asian Racquetball Championships.


If you aren’t yet a fan of Racquetball, you might be after next weekend. The game is fast paced and intense. You can join the Arklow Racquetball Team for a try out session on Wednesday evenings between 7-9pm. All equipment will be provided and the crew will take you through the game at a slower pace and answer any questions you might have.
The support of the Wicklow Community is welcomed at this special event as our beautiful County is once again showcased to the National and International press as a great place to work, live and visit.
