Altidore Castle was delighted to raise over a thousand euros for Focus Ireland at their fundraiser last weekend. The house was open for guided tours earlier in the year and on Saturday June 3rd these tours were free in aid of the homelessness charity.

“We were delighted and surprised” said organiser Thomas Emmet. “It’s the first charity event we have organised ourselves and to raise this amount is wonderful. We are descended from Thomas Addis Emmet, whose brother Robert Emmet led a rebellion for a free Ireland. His vision was for a fairer country that looked after all of its people despite class or religion. We absolutely believe Focus Ireland does work that supports his vision”.

The house is now closed to the public for tours but will reopen in August for Heritage Week with guided tours, biodiversity walks and other special events to be announced. Follow Altidore Castle on Facebook and Instagram for more updates.
