Plans for demolition at 2 landmark sites in Bray

Planning permission has been submitted for the demolition of the Landmark Fatima House building which sits adjacent to Bray’s ‘Daly’ Train Station.

The submission lodged by Lenida Developments Ltd. includes plans for a six storey, mixed use building which would include 26 apartments, offices and space for community and civic use.

Fatima House is well known to the community of Bray and has welcomed thousands of people and multiple generations of the same family over the years. Residents recall outings to bingo, roller disco, Legion of Mary, dancing, boxing and all manner of entertainment and community group.

Submissions may be made until 13th June with a decision expected by 4th July.

Across Town at the junction of Boghall road and Vevay road and Avonvard Ltd. have submitted plans for the demolition of the landmark corner site and former home of DELL.

The site has been derelict since DELL relocated to their Cherrywood campus in 2006 and has attracted a number of bidders, buyers and development proposals over the years. After 17 years of dereliction and numerous discussions surrounding ‘what next for the Old DELL site’, seeing some action on the site would be welcomed.

It remains to be seen what will occupy the high visibility site next. For the time being, the submission lodged includes levelling of the building and securing the perimeter.

Submissions may be made until 13th June with a decision expected by 4th July.
