Wicklow Choral Society round off the season on a high note

Wicklow Choral Society

Wicklow Town was alive with music on May 21st at St. Patrick’s Church, where one of Wicklow’s longest-running choirs showcased their incredible repertoire to a full house.

Directed by the Irish National Opera’s James Bingham, Greystones, the choral ensemble sang their hearts out, celebrating centuries of captivating compositions, from Mozart’s Ave Verum to the etheral 2013 composition ‘Requiem for the Living by Dan Forrest’.

Accompanied by the Degani Sinfonia which was led by Alan Smale and Bray Soprano Sarah Power, Forrest’s Requiem “lifted the spirits of everyone there” by all accounts. A composition described as “uplifting and powerful” the Wicklow Choral Society delivered this emotion through music with aplomb.

It was truly a night to remember for all, and plans are already afoot for the next performance. Wicklow Choral Society welcomes new members in September. For more information visit https://wicklowchoralsociety.net/
