Celebrations at Carnew’s KWETB Further Education and Training Centre

There were great celebrations recently at KWETB’s Carnew Further Education and Training Centre , when students received their full award in Healthcare Support at QQI level 5.

KWETB Chief Executive, Dr. Deirdre Keyes congratulated all the students, acknowledged the commitment it takes for adults to return to education and encouraged those present to continue on their learning journey.

Karin Walker, ALO/Co-ordinator of South-Wicklow ABE Service welcomed the students, their family and friends to the award ceremony.  She thanked the Service’s partners including, Mr. Pearse Egan, CNM2 – Rehab Team with HSE Community Healthcare East, Mr. David Murray Supervisor and Mr. Pat Power from Tinahely Community Employment Scheme for their continued support and looks forward to collaborating with them in the year ahead.

All those who graduated in Healthcare Support are now working in the healthcare sector in community/homecare, nursing home and residential care home settings.

Carnew Further Education & Training Centre is based at Newline, Carnew and offers a large range of part-time courses both accredited and non-accredited, including: Healthcare Support, Office Skills, Digital Skills, Employability Skills, English as a Second Language, Family Learning and many more.  Adult Guidance is another service available at Carnew Further Education & Training Centre.
