Locals were shocked on Thursday morning to see the fence between Arklow Caravan Park and Kynoch Park being erected once again.

.
It has been almost seven weeks since three of the sections of fencing were mysteriously removed, leading some locals to believe that the owner of the local Caravan Park may have decided that it was time to allow access to the North Beach and Porters Rock. Others it transpires, knew better and had been vocal about their thoughts that the removal of the fence was purely to make way for a more robust one in its place.
Not only has new fencing been erected but additional barriers have been placed along the rock armoury making it impassable to anyone bar those with full mobility and stability.
The saga of the blocked beach access is ongoing for a number of years now. You can read more about it here: One barrier less in Arklows battle to have North Beach access restored – WicklowNews
