If your Alpaca is a Drama Llama, you need the K2 Alpaca Camp

K2 Alpaca Camp

How to handle an Alpaca may not be a course that immediately comes to mind when you consider learning a new skill or taking a short course but it is pretty essential if you have one!

That’s why Joe Whelan or ‘Alpaca Joe’ as he is fast becoming known has partnered with Marty McGee Bennett, author of the ‘Camelid Companion’ to help you get to grips with your herd.

CAMELIDynamics is a set of skills that, once learned, make every animal easier to work with. Whether an alpaca or llama plants his feet and refuses to come forward, resists wearing a halter or wont stand for toenail trimming Camelidynamics offers sane, scientifically sound answers that anyone can learn and use safely.

Marty will be offering attendees an insight into correct handling of Alpacas who may be nervous, spitty or difficult to handle. Joe’s own K2Alpacas (the ones with bad habits and poor social skills) will be available on the day for handlers to try out their techniques in a hands on environment.

The non-profit event costs €30 which includes some refreshments served pre-session 12.30-1.30pm

The event itself runs on Saturday 19th August1.30 – 4.30pm @ K2 Alpacas, Newtownmountkennedy, A63 DX08
