HERITAGE WEEK EVENTS

Thursday 17th August: Killanne’s Local Heritage: Bioblitz and Local History Talks

Join us in Killanne on Thursday evening, 17th August, to take part in a bioblitz in St Anne’s Historic Graveyard at 6.30pm to discover the plants and animals in this unique habitat. This will be followed by local history talks and refreshments in Rackard’s of Killanne at 7.30pm. The talks will present the findings of a new geophysics survey of the churchyard and surrounding area and showcase digital images and story maps that will be used to tell the story of Killanne’s more recent history. There will also be digital displays of some of the other material we have collected across the wider Blackstairs. This will be an opportunity for you to see how the area’s living heritage will be communicated to potential visitors to the area.
