Avondale Gaa Senior Football Championship Results
Avondale Senior football team kicked off their Boom and Platform Hire senior football championship round one with a well deserved win over Kiltegan in Echelon Park, Aughrim last Sunday.
At half time Avondale were well in the lead on a scoreline of Avondale 4-05(17) to Kiltegan 0-04(4) Avondale had the wind in their backs at the start of the second half and at full time Avondale held out for their first win in the senior football championship on a scoreline of Avondale 4-10(22) to Kiltegan 2-10(16) Great start to the football championship for Avondale

Avondale Senior Football Results
Avondale senior football team travelled to Echelon park Aughrim on Friday 11th August for the second round of the Boom and Platform Hire senior football championship against A.G.B. At half time Avondale down by a goal on a scoreline of Avondale 0-05(5) to A.G.B 1-05(8). It wasn’t to be Avondale’s night as they went down on a scoreline of Avondale 0-11(11) to A.G.B 3-10(19).

Congratulations to the Camogie U14 county development squad especially the Avondale player who took part in a county U14 blitz’s last saturday and then on last Sunday they attended the All Ireland Camogie finals in croke park and paraded on the hollow grounds of Croke Park on all Ireland camogie final day well done to all involved with the u14 Wicklow development squad
Special Visitor
The Nancy Murray cup made a special visit at Avondale Camogie training and also made a special visit to the Avondale gaa Summer camp where the kids got their picture with the cup. Thanks to Emma Byrne for organising the visit of the cup while she stays in Wicklow for the Winter.

Dublin diocesan pilgrimage to Lourdes next September departing on the 5th and 7th September

Ballinacor Community Field Day
Ballinacor Field Day takes place on Sunday Aug 20th from 1.30pm to 4pm at the Ballinacor Community Park, A67WY83. Come along and join the fun including the Tug of War Competition; Household Obstacle Course; Hang Tough; Water Slide; Long Puck and Dancing with the 2023 All Ireland Jiving Champions – The N&N Jivers. There will also be lots of other field games, kids matches, BBQ and stalls.
Heritage Week Family Day Out in Glenmalure
Join us in Baravore Glenmalure at 10am on Saturday August 19 th for a variety of interesting events to mark Heritage Week. Proceedings begin with a short talk and lime mortar building demonstration at the newly conserved crusher house followed by fun environmental activities for adults and children in the Avonbeg River and concluding with refreshments, music and poetry at the hostel approximately 1: 00pm. There is a choice of walks a 30km and a 12km walk the cost is twenty five euros and book via eventbrite St Kevins Way Longer walk (30km) park at Hollywood gaa at 7.30am for registration walk from Hollywood gaa to Glendalough (approx 7 hours)
Shorter walk (12km) park at Hollywood gaa at 11.30am for registration bust departs 12pm to start walk at Ballinagee Bridge walk to Glendalough (approx 4/5 hours) Bus will take walkers back to Hollywood gaa grounds
