Congratulations and well done to Shane, Harry and Bobby from the Avondale gaa club who played in the connaught dome on the Wicklow County Academy squad and played Roscommon. They won two out of there three games. Great seeing the young lads representing their club at county level and playing in the connaught dome is a great honour for them.
Congratulations to Tiarnan, Cameron, Leighton, Tyler and Kevin who represented Avondale gaa Club on the county U14 development squad last weekend. They had great battles against Antrim and Kildare team one and two and West Meathin Abbotstown in Dublin

U15 Hurling Academy Squad
After winning a match against Armagh earlier on in the day the Wicklow U15 hurlers progressed on to the final of the Stephen Dorrogan cup final Wicklow U15 hurlers ended up on the winning side on a scoreline of Wicklow 3-16(25) to Roscommon 0-08(8) I would like to congratulate two Avondale players who played the part in the great win for Wicklow Adam Kearns and Alex Kavanagh from Avondale were a part of the Wicklow U15 hurling academy team
Avondale Gaa Junior Football Results
Avondale Junior B football team played Kilbride Junior B team at home in Avondale in the Philip Doyle Junior B football group three round three. By half time Avondale were up on a scoreline of Avondale 2-04(10) to Kilbride 1-02(5) Avondale started the second half and by full time Avondale won on a scoreline of Avondale 3-10(19) to Kilbride 1-04(7)

Rathdrum Cemetery Association
Rathdrum cemetery association would like to send their deepest sympathy to the Busher family on the death of Seamus Busher Seamus was one of the original volunteers when the association was formed helping out with the cutting of the grass and the general up keep of the graveyard He was alway first to help out when needed Seamus has his own special place there know He was well known character around Rathdrum and he will be sorely missed by his family and all the knew him Rest in peace amen
Rathdrum Historical Society
Rathdrum Historical Society is starting its Autumn season on Monday 11th September with a guided tour of Avondale House Meeting point is the car park at Avondale house at 5.45pm

Clara Vale Summer Fair
Clara Vale Summer fair has being rescheduled for Sunday the 3rd of September 2023 at 2.00pm at Clara Vale Church. The committee is looking for items for stalls including cakes books plants home produce firewood and new items. There will also be teas, bottle stalls, lucky dips, hidden treasure raffle and novelty acts.
