Senior Hurling Championship Result
Avondale/Barndarrig senior hurlers made the journey to Echelon park Aughrim to play Kiltegan in the senior hurling championship group four round three match it was a cracking game from the start of the first half to half time and at half time Avondale/Barndarrig were down by two points on a scoreline of Avondale/Barndarrig 1-11(14) to Kiltegan 2-10(16).
In the second half Avondale/Barndarrig gave a huge effort and came up short against a very strong Kiltegan side on a scoreline of Avondale/Barnndarigh 1-18(21) to Kiltegan 3-17(26)

Intermediate Hurling Championship Result
Avondale intermediate hurling team played Saint Pat’s on a wet Sunday morning in Echelon park Aughrim. At half time Avondale were leading on a scoreline of Avondale 1-09(12) to Saint Pats 0-09(9)
In the second half of the match it wasn’t to be for Avondale as Saint Pats extended their lead on a full time score line of Avondale 1-16(19) to Saint Pats 3-17(26)
Junior Football League semi-final result
No joy for the Avondale junior football team in the league semi-final against Dunlavin last Thursday night at the Wicklow gaa centre of excellence Rathdrum on a beautiful sunny evening.
The Avondale junior footballers had load of chances to get to the league final it wasn’t to be for Avondale as they exited the league.
The full time score was Avondale 2-07(13)to Dunlavin 2-10(16)

Avondale Gaa Fundraiser
Avondale gaa club are holding a scrap Saturday fundraiser on Saturday 5th, Sunday 6th and Monday the 7th August from 8am onwards on the three days at the sports complex in Rathdrum.
The following are items that are allowed.
Aluminium, car and tractor batteries, bicycle (tyres), fencing wire, biscuit tins, fireplaces (steel), boilers, gas cookers, brass, gas heaters, coal buckets, goal post(metal), copper wire, go karts (no tyres) clothes lines, golf irons, dishwashers, ironing boards, drink can (clean), Kettle (not plastic) electric cookers, electrical cable, oil tanks(steel), empty food cans(clean) and radiators.

Rathdrum Rugby Club introduction to Rathdrum R.F.C. Are you over eighteen and want to give rugby a try Rathdrum men’s team are recruiting. Meet existing players and coaches at an informal training session and BBQ on the 10th August at 7.30pm at Rathdrum rugby club.

Dublin Diocesan Pilgrimage To Lourdes
Dublin diocesan pilgrimage to Lourdes next September departing on the 5th and 7th September
from 859 euros per person sharing.
The pilgrimage is be lead by archbishop Dermot Farrell.

Rathdrum Parish
Fr Doyle is looking for Parishioners who might like to promote the associate membership of the Diocesam pilgrimage of Lourdes.
What this would entail is handing out associations cards to the parishioners at weekend masses and enroll them with the association.
Please let Fr Doyle know if you would like to undertake this role.
If donations are received the money goes towards helping sick pilgrims to go to the Diocesan pilgrimage who otherwise may not be able to afford the cost.
Whatever donation you give will be greatly appreciated.

Famine graveyard mass will take place at the famine graveyard in Rathdrum on Thursday 27th July 2023 at 7.30pm All are welcome to attend this mass.
