Yesterday, volunteer with BARSS, Michael Walby took on mileage that would be a challenge when completed over the course of a week.
Not for this man as he decided that in order to raise much needed funds for both BARSS (Bray Area Rough Sleepers Support) and Pieta, he would need to do something pretty special. With that in mind, he embarked on a 100km walk in one day going from Bray to Ringsend, Back to Wicklow Town and then Looping back to his hometown of Bray.

.
Michael Walby is one of 5 people who are on the BARSS Committee that oversee the operation of BARSS on a daily basis.
All funds raised from todays walk will go directly to BARSS & Pieta.
Bray Area Rough Sleepers Support (BARSS) are a voluntary soup run led and run by community volunteers. They don’t receive any government funding and are completely reliant on donations and community support. Their objective is simple, to provide hot meals, sandwiches, snacks and drinks at night to anyone who may need them, no questions asked. They operate 365 days a year.
Pieta provide a professional one-to-one therapeutic service to people who are in suicidal distress, those who engage in self-harm, and those bereaved by suicide. In operation since 2006, they have helped over 58,000 people nationwide since their inception.
