Arklows Community Action Resource Group continue to expand the number of social groups at newly opened centre

ARKLOW RESOURCE CENTRE

Arklow Community Action Resource Centre has a prime location in Town. Located on the River Walk, behind St. Mary’s Park, it is easily accessible from all sides of the Town and has made itself the centre of the community in more ways than one.

Accommodating a whole host of community groups, meet ups and coffee mornings from the new venue, the group continues to expand their reach ensuring as many people as possible can enjoy a free social outlet.

Their new Women’s Group will be up and running soon and will take place on a Tuesday morning at the centre from 10.30 – 12.30pm.

You can also choose from the ‘Men’s Shed’, ‘Coffee Morning’ or ‘Stitch and Knit’ groups.

A recent addition this Summer has been the Monthly Craft Market which takes place on the last Saturday of the month. The new addition to Saturdays in Arklow Town has been warmly welcomed by locals and traders alike and gives a lovely lease of life to a corner building which had been derelict for many years prior.

If you would like to book a table at the next craft market or are interested in joining any of the groups, You can contact any member of the committee on their facebook page or on 086 8702726 for Julie or 083 1052 760 for Owen.

This grassroots community action group are exactly as it says on the tin, a group of local people who saw a dire need in the community for support and took it upon themselves to provide that support. They currently run food drops to local families who for whatever reason may not have the means to cover their essentials and offer non-judgemental guidance where a member of the community may need assistance with whatever life has thrown at them.

If you are in a position to support the work of Arklow Community Action Resource Centre, you can reach out to them on one of the phone numbers above or follow them on facebook.
