Campaigners call for increased rail services to Wicklow Town and beyond

South East on Track saw success last year with the introduction of a late-night service to Gorey, and now the campaigners are turning their attention to increasing services south of Greystones.

The campaign group are calling on commuters to have their voices heard as Iarnród Éireann begin taking submissions for their public consultation on proposed timetable changes.

In posts to social media, South East on Track offered submission ideas to each county in the region.

For Co. Wicklow, some of the ideas offered were as follows; the reopening of Avoca train station; a specific Wicklow Town commuter service; more regular stops south of Greystones; the removal of accommodation crossings, reduction in DART waiting times, and the prioritization of the Rosslare Europort train over the Greystones DART at Connolly Station in order to speed up service.

Submissions must be in by Tuesday September 26th, and you can make your voice here heard.
